The Unchained Eatery

Unchained Eatery is a food and dining recommendations blog rooted in curiosity, storytelling, and trusted local insight. Inspired by a formative travel experience in Vernazza, Italy, the project grew from a desire to share thoughtfully vetted restaurant recommendations—both local and far afield—so others could spend less time sifting through mediocre meals and more time enjoying memorable ones. The blog is focused entirely on independently-owned restaurants, or as the name implies, “un-chained” dining experiences. Part personal essay, part cultural guide, Unchained Eatery blends journalism, lived experience, and a genuine love of food into an approachable, narrative-driven resource for diners.

The entire ethos of Unchained Eatery is one of fun, cheekiness, and absolutely not taking oneself too seriously. Principal Foodie in Charge, Eric, was really looking for a way to combine his two loves: food and writing. We delivered a brand that included a logo, color palette, font selections, icons and design elements, a business card, and Tshirt design.

And….this project is how our Art Director Gili became Mrs. Foodie in Charge.
